UWSA Common Systems

Integrated Student Information System (ISIS)

Enhancing student administrative services

Many of the 4-year UW System schools are using a PeopleSoft-based Student Information System (SIS) to improve the functionality of student administrative services, such as student orientation, admissions, graduation, financial aid and alumni records. The new software is a “behind-the-scenes” system that provides students, faculty and staff with access to this information and other newly enhanced self-service capabilities. Participating universities include UW-Green Bay, UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Parkside, UW-Platteville, UW-River Falls, UW-Superior and UW-Whitewater.

The new student information system developed streamlined processes and procedures for various administrative functions. It is a web-based system that provides students, faculty and staff direct access to student information. Many of the changes should allow for increased use of student data and better tracking mechanisms, which allow universities to serve students in a more effective and efficient manner. Students can register for classes, view and print class schedules, view and print grades and access billing and financial aid information. Faculty can view information about advisees, including coursework and class rosters, and record grades. Faculty and staff can access payroll information, reserve vehicles, and use a variety of other university tools.

Future Implementation
These System universities are in progress to implement PeopleSoft: UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout. UW-La Crosse will be transitioning from its current legacy system to the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environment. UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout are also implementing PeopleSoft Campus Solutions at the same time as UW-La Crosse. The campuses have been working together on planning and training and will continue to do so moving forward with implementation. This collaborative effort will provide cost savings, sharing of potential business solutions and best practices, and knowledge transfer among functional and technical staff.

The SIS Project is a common systems project, partially funded by the University of Wisconsin System. UW-Madison's system is the only one not supported by the Common Systems Review Group (CSRG), which means (fill in the information here). SIS is an installation of the Oracle/PeopleSoft Campus Solutions product.
